Why do Yoga in Sedona?

Sedona is an amazing place to live a healthy lifestyle with miles of trails and many wellness businesses. With all those choices, why would you choose to practice yoga?

Everyone can benefit from yoga.  Practicing yoga can help you sleep more soundly, improve flexibility and balance, calm anxiety and enrich your sense of well-being. It is a great complement to other outdoor activities like hiking, biking and golf. Some people worry that they won’t be able to do all the poses, or that they don’t have the right clothes to wear, or they won’t be able to keep up. However, Village Yoga offers opportunities for everyone.

Village Yoga, located in Sedona Vista Village in the Village of Oak Creek offers a variety of 20+ classes weekly for all experience levels with students ranging from age 5 to 85.

This yoga studio was created to provide “Yoga Your Way” — so forget the pictures you see of yoga online.

The truth is any pose can be adapted to your individual needs and you will get the same benefit.  Our teachers will guide you to practice safely and offer supporting props and alternative poses. Breathing, stretching, aligning, twisting and folding activities all provide incredible physical and mental benefits whether done at a purposeful pace in a seated position, like in our Restorative and Yin classes, or at a faster pace of a Vinyasa Flow class.

Community is the reason to come to Village Yoga. Practicing with others provides the feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself, which is the foundation of yoga.  It unites us. With the amazing team of teachers that lead our classes, we have created a place that provides the variety, camaraderie and flexibility that you are looking for in a studio. We love trying new things based on our community’s feedback, offering specialty workshops and events and making sure everyone feels welcome.

We also teach Pilates and Barre to help you strengthen your core and balance, and we have fabulous partners including Butterfly Genius, the Sedona Dance Project and Sedona Belly dance offering dance classes to complement your yoga practice. Regardless of your experience, skills and physical abilities, we have something for you.

What are you waiting for? Come in and check us out. If you are new to the studio, mention this blog and you can try a class for $5. If you want to try a sampling of classes, we have a new trial membership of $30 for a week of unlimited classes for local residents.

Yoga will enrich your life. Village Yoga looks forward to serving you.
