THE SEDONA SHUTTLE PASSES 100,000 BOARDINGS

In just over 70 days, the shuttle has recorded 106,355 passenger boarding's!!

The new Sedona Shuttle trailhead service launched on March 24th with routes to four of the area’s most popular trailheads: Cathedral Rock, Soldier Pass, Dry Creek Vista and Little Horse. A drop off to the Mescal Trailhead was added in June.

In just over 70 days, the shuttle has recorded 106,355 passenger boarding's!! Robert Weber, the City of Sedona's Transit Administrator said that while the initial ridership data is encouraging, we still have some work to do to improve productivity on some of the routes.

This service has improved pedestrian safety on some of the roadways leading to the trailheads and has helped alleviate the extreme over-prescription of parking we’ve seen in some of our neighborhoods.

The shuttles run Thursday through Sunday, from 7 am-5:30 pm every 15 to 45 minutes. The trailhead shuttles pick-up from two park and ride lots:

  • Trailhead shuttles serving Cathedral Rock and Little Horse trailheads pick up from the SR 179 park and ride lot located at 1294 SR 179.
  • Service to Soldier Pass, Dry Creek Vista, and Mescal trailheads operate from the Posse Grounds Park and ride lot at 20 Carruth Drive in West Sedona.

The line 11 is now providing shuttle service from the Posse Gourds Park & Ride to the Mescal Trailhead day use area. From the Mescal trail, hikers can access the Chuckwagon Trail, Devil’s Bridge (best / shortest access), Long Canyon Trail, and Deadman’s Pass. If you don’t want to share your hike to Devil’s Bridge with ATV(s), Mescal is your best bet. The recommended route from the Mescal trailhead day use area on Long Canyon Rd to Devil’s Bridge is Mescal to Chuckwagon to Devils Bridge trail (4.0 miles round trip).
